Hagé International wishes to take on responsibility for societal problems such as air pollution, climate change and working conditions. By participating in and contributing to sustainable initiatives, Hagé International strives to assist in finding solutions for these issues.
Corporate social responsibility is part of The Greenery’s vision on its core activities. At Hagé International, the Sourcing Import unit focuses on sourcing activities in at-risk countries, while also – in keeping with the vision of the core business – taking the societal effects of those activities into account.
In order to act in a fashion commensurate with this vision, Hagé International has set itself the goal of offering a fully socially-sustainable product range before the end of 2020. This entails making sure that all products sourced from at-risk countries meet the internationally-recognised standards for sustainability certification. We at The Greenery/Hagé International B.V. strive to purchase our products in a sustainable manner, no matter the country of origin.
Together for sustainability
Participation in social schemes such as BSCI, SEDEX, SIZA, Fair Trade and the Rainforest Alliance is no longer a ‘plus’ but a requirement for doing business. By taking part in one of the recognised social schemes, suppliers of Hagé International can demonstrate their compliance with the required standards for working conditions, and therefore, their status as a sustainable trade partner.
